UFOs, Venus, and Adult Education – The 431 Exchange Returns to The David Pakman Show
Dear Friends of the 431 Exchange,
If you ever needed a reminder of why critical thinking and continuing education matter, David Pakman’s latest show offers the perfect example.
In his recent segment, David breaks down a now-viral clip from an ABC affiliate warning viewers about a “UFO” that turns out to be… the planet Venus. Yes, you read that right. The planet.
While the show humorously exposes how easily misinformation spreads, it also underscores a deeper issue: the need for better education and critical thinking skills among adults.
At the 8-minute mark, David pauses to highlight the 431 Exchange Scholarship Campaign—our effort to provide scholarships to adults who are ready to transform their lives through education.
One thing that is inspiring (and a little intimidating) about talking with our scholars is that I am constantly humbled by their astute knowledge and assessment of the world around them. As adults balancing family, work, and education, they approach learning with a level of intention and focus that comes from lived experience. Every step forward is carefully measured, making their educational achievements even more remarkable.
How You Can Support Our Scholars Today:
Donate – Every dollar contributes to new scholarships for adult learners.
Refer a Friend – Forward this or share the video with someone passionate about education.
Get Involved – Contact us to learn how to mentor or attend our events.
Our scholars may not be identifying planets from their backyards, but they are pursuing nursing degrees, engineering certifications, and GEDs—opening doors for themselves and their communities.
If you believe, as we do, that education changes everything, join us in making 2025 our biggest scholarship year yet.
Thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Jeanne Geoffray
