33 Scholars. Another LIFT Along the Way.

Education is a journey, and getting started is only part of it.
This fall, the 431 Exchange is proud to award 33 LIFT Scholarships to previous 431 Exchange scholarship winners who are continuing their education. Each $431 LIFT award is designed to provide additional support to scholars who remain enrolled in college, university, vocational or trade-school programs—and to remind them that our commitment does not end with their first scholarship.
That continuing relationship has always been at the heart of the 431 Exchange. A scholarship opens a door, but students still have to make their way through everything that follows: classes, expenses, work, family responsibilities and the many expected—and unexpected—challenges of pursuing an education. Our LIFT program gives us a way to keep standing beside scholars as they move forward.
Montiah Norton, Fall 2026 Lift Winner
Sometimes we get to see exactly where that journey leads. Montiah Norton, a longtime member of the 431 Exchange scholarship family, is using her 2026 LIFT award to help attend her first psychology conference, where she will present research from her master's thesis examining effective coping strategies for Black Americans experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. As Montiah wrote to us, she is grateful “to continue having the support of the 431 community throughout my graduate training.”
We don't yet know where every step will take each of this year's 33 LIFT Scholars. That's part of what makes continuing the relationship so important. We do know that they are still pursuing their education—and that they remain part of the 431 Exchange family.
